NGO (Non-governmental organisation) = Organisations not founded by governmental, but by private initative. The reason for the following information is – to our regret – the fact that many NGOs acting internationally are being sponsored by political, financial, economic, religious or confessional organizations so that there is a direct independence based on this support determining the methods used for the targets set. (examples: the “orange revolution” in Ukraine, the upheavals in Georgia and in many other parts of the world which were supported by so-called NGOs according to the press reports). The Russian Federation launched a new law with respect to the NGOs operating there and has toughened their possibilities, thus reducing the Western impact on domestic affairs (by misuse of political, economic, but also religious targets). The international Association „PEACE through CULTUR“ is not an „NGO“, but an independent, officially approved non-profit association checked by the German authorities on an annual basis. All of the financial needs are coming from private members and sponsors on a voluntary basis based on idealistic and ethical motives. Expenses for trips to conferences and similar events are mostly born by the collaborators themselves. PTC has so far not received (or accepted) any means from political or economic sources since ist foundation (1989) and thus maintained its independence throughout the years. We feel proud to belong to a group of people whose target mainly is the strengthening of the Ethical Humanism in all spheres of our society. |
„PEACE through CULTURE“ – is no „NGO“!
