A certain part of humanity is obviously still convinced that the desired world peace can be ensured for the whole of humanity by military action only, the awareness and understanding with more and more people is growing that world peace can only be the result of a non-violent principle to be initiated by strong ethical representatives of the human kind. Peace and Culture! The cultures of humanity – even in today's residual values – were basically always related on superior moral and ethical laws (values, rules, commandments and prohibitions) which were always understood as "divine". They were considered as results from a higher source superior to Planet Earth and the cosmos, thus reflecting on the culture to ensure the perseverance of peace, harmony, health, happiness and overall well-being. The "old cultures" – more or less – endaevoured to comply with cosmic laws and to even actively use these laws so that high civilizations and "golden ages" were the result. All life and natural areas were determined in quality and quantity by certain moral and ethical standards. Even people from other cultures had were integrated and enjoyed a kind of sacred "hospitality". Civilization as the cause of the crisis In the new global understanding developing over the past 100 years, which more and more prevailed by the end of the 20th century, the progress initiated by science in the various fields makes mankind believe that anything is possible – that nature and the planet’s residents are completely free in action and behaviour without consideration of any natural and ethical laws. At the same time, even sciences have proved that the laws of nature are absolutely up to the most remote parts of the cosmos (universe). The primary law in this all-encompassing unit is the law of cause and effect – for all microcosms as well as the macrocosm. A re-orientation and correction of the purely intellectual approach is of most urgent need to arrive at the awareness of a cosmic understanding of our world. We all sit in one boat Today, more and more people understand themselves as part of a global family – the human race. When considering the relative differences in racial and national characteristics we can see at a second glance, however, the absolute identity and analogies with respect to human wishes, thinking, and the everyday behavior – as a proof of the spiritual and cultural unity of humanity. Therefore, a policy heading actively towards world peace must necessarily take into account the intellectual and cultural realities developed over thousands of years together with the corresponding positive human and societal energies in order to achieve the higher goal of a global human community. Cross-cultural and ethical committees / bodies should be set up at all levels as new institutions assisting the politicians and the economy to go by these new guidelines in all their actions. All social institutions – especially those with ethical and cultural orientation – are therefore of paramount importance for the unification of peoples and cultures to follow the path of non-violence towards Peace through Culture! The global political aspect, which is supported by the International Association "Peace through culture" and accepted by more and more people of cultural background, but also by a political elite, increasingly understands humanity as a greater family, as unity in cultural diversity. This principle must, of course, be clearly defined with respect to ethical and reasonable rules for everyone. In such an understanding and objective framework every family (nation, race, etc.) is part of a larger unit and should feel integrated in the existing world culture. Such a process, however, can be built only on mutual confidence in order to implement appropriate and practical solutions. Mutual respect and recognition of all existing variations in culture, race, nation, religion or belief should be the unquestionable basis. Principles of the International Association "PEACE through CULTURE" Based on the open ideological structure of the association "Peace through Culture" – mentally and cul-rell – it offers all the communities, institutions and individuals globally to all a foundation with wel-chem should be able to identify each. The highest authority is the life (of life) itself, an overarching ethical living. To what extent these individual ethical order described as "cosmos" or "universe", this other point of the highest order as "God" or as an impersonal "god" class is a secondary nature, since these terms, at least relatively, are understood as synonyms. SEVEN principles The following seven essential rules should guide the cooperation of all on the way towards spiritual unity: • Spiritual and ethical principles must always have priority over all political targets. • Active tolerance (instead of passive indifference) should be practiced in all action on the basis of common concepts. • A clear willingness and spiritual openness for the solution of problems must be practiced in any cultural and political processes – up to specific details. • Non-violence is a basic law which, however, should not exclude the new dimension of justified active resistance from an ethical point of view. No one may be restricted by any law in matters of faith and in his spiritual freedom, as long as he complies with the fundamental law of non-violence. • All inter-religious and intercultural processes have to develop, integrate and practice the principle of "synthesis" as a common spiritual and ethical reflection. • The principle of unity in diversity and diversity in unity is a fundamental requirement! • The motto "" should be the essential guiding principle and should offer all ideological groups, so-called believers and all those who think differently ("non-believers"?) a common frame of cooperation and development! "Towards Spiritual Concord" Under this slogan launched by the International Association "Peace through culture" since 1991, starting in Kazakhstan and subsequently in India, the Caucasian territory, Russia and the Baltic states, a process was initiated that, in the meantime, was adopted by a variety of spiritual and cultural communities and which is partially being sponsored by politics even and by representatives from the field of culture and the social sciences! The spiritual basis of the movement "Towards Spiritual Concord" was founded and supported by prominent representatives of international spiritual and religious organizations of the Christian Orthodoxy, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other spiritual groups as well as by numerous representatives of the public life of politics, economy and science. The first Congress under this working title (held in Kazakhstan in 1992) soon showed that this direction taken offers a great synthesis, a spiritual cooperation between the leaders of various religions and sciences and political governance. The definition of the terms "God" – “Universe " – "Cosmos" – "Nature" – "Creation” may in this way be understood as synonyms for the unique and ultimate source in the UNIVERSE. For this reason, the idea "Towards Spiritual Concord" was accepted as the basis for the activity program of the International Association "Peace through culture". Dear reader of these lines – please help and cooperate to find an optimal common ethical denominator and to develop an appropriate social and political formula for all actions. In the interest of us ALL – please support this peace formula! |
